Purpose

The purpose of this seminar is to provide update on Web Services development and insight to the Web Services Certification Framework and the certification programme developed jointly by NICC and XMLOne User Group. The certification process and the scope of the certification will be explained in this briefing.

Web Services Development

This session introduces the OASIS Functional Elements Specification 2.0, which is one of the deliverable of the OASIS Framework for Web Services Implementation Framework (FWSI).

This specification defines the right level of abstraction for these Functional Elements and to specify the purpose and scope of each Functional Element so as to facilitate efficient and effective implementation of Web Services.

This session introduces Automated Error Prevention (AEP). AEP is an industry best practice that improves application quality through the automatic prevention of errors during the entire software development lifecycle. AEP automates the development process to help software organizations learn from their and everyone else’s mistake to prevent errors from being repeated in software. AEP is important in Web Services Development.

The speaker will explain the certification process and the pre-requisites of the Certification programme. He will explain the 2 stages of Certification which consists of an Examination and Portfolio Evaluation.

 

The speaker will explain the Body of Knowledge outlined in the Web Services Skills Certification Framework in which he gives some idea of the areas of focus in preparation for the certification.

Web Services Special Interest Group (WS-SIG) Meeting *

The purpose of this Special Interest Group, SIG, is to provide a forum for companies and individual to meet and discuss about technical issues and other related subject regarding Web Services.


The SIG main role is to facilitate activities such as meeting, forum, seminars and match-make solutions providers to users. These activities aim at promoting and providing information that will assists members in embarking on their Web Services projects.
