XMLOne is proud to announce the formation of a special interest group
(XML-SCM SIG) to look into the application of XML in supply chance
management (SCM).
What and why ...
The purpose of this Special Interest Group, SIG, is to provide a forum
for companies and individual to meet and discuss about technical issues
and other related subject regarding XML and its application in the
area of supply chain management.
The SIG main role is to facilitate activities such as meeting, forum,
seminars and match-make solutions providers to users. These activities
aim at promoting and providing information that will assists members
in embarking on their SCM projects.
The first project proposed it to promote the adoption of XML in data
interchange application in supply chain management applications. This
initiative is to help members to adopt e-business network that enable
them to interchange business document amongst themselves.
Due to the wide focus of SCM, the initial activities of this SIG will
focus on the manufacturing sector. It will further expand to other
sectors in the near term.

About the Organizer
XMLOne is a non-profit organization supported by the technology companies,
government board, developers and professionals from the business Community.
XMLOne is the official event organizer for XMLASIA.
Being the first XML User Group in the Asia Pacific region, it will
help to facilitate the exchange of information, news, training, organize
seminars and special interest groups. It will also encourage the various
efforts underway to make use of XML as key means in general-purpose
e-business.
Synopsis of the session
The purpose of this meeting is to provide an introduction to XMLOne
Special Interest Group, its objectives and mission. It will explain
the purposes of forming this special interest group and its propose
project.

XML-SCM SIG chairman's profile
Andy Tan is the founder of Intrinix Networks. Intrinix Networks provides
e-business application development services. He has over 17 years
experience in software development and has successfully implemented
many projects over the years. He has been focusing on Internet related
software development since 1997.
Andy is actively involved in promoting the use of XML for data exchange.
He is a member of the XML One User Group executive committee. He is
also a member of ITSC-XML Working Group focusing on promoting XML
in Singapore.
Andy has presented in several seminars on XML applications and Supply
Chain Management conducted by SIMTech, ITSC and PSB as well as paper
in the ITSC's Synthesis Journal 2001. He received a BSC for Computer
