In Kenneth's
presentation he introduced Web Services and put it in relation
to other technologies, like the XML B2B standards that are probably
already familiar to the XMLOne audience. Both technical and
business aspects was covered, such as the key components of
Web Services (SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, etc.), the Web Services model
(describe, publish, discover, invoke), how to expose business
functionality as a Web Service, and business scenarios of possible
Web Services usages. The questions on when, how, and why to
use Web Services was answered. Finally, a reality check and
look at the Web Services phases and maturity, together with
some actual implementations in the industry. |
