What and why ...
The purpose of this Special Interest Group, SIG, is to provide a forum
for companies and individual to meet and discuss about technical issues
and other related subject regarding XML and its application in the
area of supply chain management.
The SIG main role is to facilitate activities such as meeting, forum,
seminars and match-make solutions providers to users. These activities
aim at promoting and providing information that will assists members
in embarking on their SCM projects.
The first project proposed it to promote the adoption of XML in data
interchange application in supply chain management applications. This
initiative is to help members to adopt e-business network that enable
them to interchange business document amongst themselves.
Due to the wide focus of SCM, the initial activities of this SIG will
focus on the manufacturing sector. It will further expand to other
sectors in the near term.
Target Audience
Manufacturing companies who are planning to implement Internet supply
chain projects as well as solutions vendors who can help these companies
to implement their solutions are invited to join this SIG.
Business and IT managers from these companies who are responsible
for SCM projects need to attend.
About the Organizer
XMLOne is a non-profit organization supported by the technology companies,
government board, developers and professionals from the business Community.
XMLOne is the official event organizer for XMLASIA.
Being the first XML User Group in the Asia Pacific region, it will
help to facilitate the exchange of information, news, training, organize
seminars and special interest groups. It will also encourage the various
efforts underway to make use of XML as key means in general-purpose
e-business.
Proceeding of the Session
The purpose of this meeting is to update the member on the progress
of the Project 2002, propose new initiative for year 2003 and set-up
new objectives and key results.

A new working committee was not formed due to the poor turn out. An
electronic survey will be conducted to determine the need for such
SIG.
