The purpose of this Special Interest Group (SIG) is to provide a
forum for companies and individual to meet and discuss about technical
issues and other related subject regarding XML and its application in
the area of supply chain management, Health Care, Business reporting
and others. It works closely
with other XML working group like ITSC-XML WG.
The first project was proposed in 2002 to adopt XML in data
interchange. This initiative is to help members to adopt e-business
network that enable them to exchange business documents amongst
themselves.
The SIG main role is to facilitate activities such as meeting, forum,
seminars and match-make solutions providers to users. These activities
aim at promoting and providing information that will assists members
in embarking on their information exchange project.
It also help member to organize relevant training and other activities
to improve members' competency. Training sessions are not free. SIG
will works with partners to offer these training at a discount to
the members.
The objective of the network is to facilitate the interoperability
between two or more parties even though they are executing software
implemented by different vendors, operation system or computer platforms. The key result is to establish a common system that enables
members companies to exchange data easily and seamlessly.

1. Request for quotation
2. Quotation
3. Purchase order and acknowledgement
4. Order status
5. Production schedule
6. Product catalogue
7. Any others
This networks is targeted for SMEs. The network framework needs to
be cost effective and affordable for SMEs to implement. At the same
time, it must be open and software vendor neutral. It shall be flexible,
simple and take shorter time to implement.
This SIG will align itself to the recommendation of the ITSC-XMLWG
as well as any other relevant working groups. This SIG will contribute
to the drafting of any standard recommendations or proposal by the
ITSC-XMLWG.
The XIP project initiated by the ITSC XML Working provides a good
frame for member to evaluate XML applications in their workplace.

We will invite companies who are interested to implement Internet
supply chain projects as well as solutions vendors who can help these
companies to implement their solutions.
During the initial phase the SIG member will study the recommendation
by the ITSC-WG as well as other standard-working committees.
SIG members will decide upon which recommendation to adopt and work
closely to implement the solution. Member companies will undertake
their project either by themselves or with member solutions vendors.
During the implementation phase, members will get together to discuss
issues and problems. The SIG will also help members to organize relevant
seminar or training program to assist members. SIG will help to promote
the final adopted solutions to other interested companies.
The membership is opened to all companies and solutions vendors.
