2:15 pm Web Services Technologies and Standards
An introduction to:
Web Services and SOA
Web Services Core technology and Standards: SOAP, WSDL and UDDI
Web Services Interoperability Issues

This is to provide an introduction for the benefit of those attendees not familiar with Web Services technologies and standards. Some level of detail will be discussed when we walk through the case study.
2:45 pm Case Study: SOA – A Practical Approach

This is a 4 steps approach using an agile software development Methodology like RUP from Rational Software and deployed on an Application platform. This case study will also feature the open standards Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL).

Step 1: Business Process Modelling
We will demonstrate how a Business Analyst could model and simulate a business process. Using analysis tools to streamline business process.

Step 2: The Analysis and Design Discipline
We will demonstrate how an Architect can design and model a language-independent model based on the business process developed by the business analyst in step 1.

4:00 pm Case Study: SOA – A Practical Approach (Continue)

Step 3: The Implementation Discipline
We will demonstrate how a J2EE Developer can quickly develop, analyze, test and deploy the web services.

Step 4: The Integration & Deployment Process
Lastly, we will demonstrate how the Integration Developer assembles / Choreograph the Services created by the developer to create an executable process defined by the Business Analyst.

5:00 pm Web Services Security

We will explain some of the security challenges and how these issues can be overcome. A brief discussion on how WS-Security is used in WebSphere as a case example

5:30 pm Certified Web Services Professional (CWSP) Review

In this session we will introduce CWSP and its objectives. We will also discuss some of the expectation of candidates by reviewing some sample questions.
